We’re not the right tool for everyone. That’s why the reasons to choose them come first.
Choose Synlig.ai if
- You’re not in tourism. We only measure tourism, so a tool without that narrowing suits you better.
- You want Claude or Google AI Mode in the measurement. They’re on their list and not on ours.
- You want to start at 799 NOK a month and try it for seven days without giving card details.
Choose Lykt if
- You sell stays or experiences, and the questions your guests ask are about place, season and who suits what.
- You want to see the answer per market, and know which sources the engine read in Germany before you buy a campaign there.
- You want three engines from the lowest plan and all five from Pro, and three tasks a month picked from the map.
What we measure differently
Three choices that make our numbers different.

A map, not a grade
We don’t give you one number to be judged on. You get an Authority map where each pillar reads “You’re mentioned”, “Shared answer” or “Not mentioned” per engine, and each cell points to a task. A map tells you where to go. A grade only tells you how it went. See the glossary (in Norwegian).

Market, not language
Our unit is the market, and the language is a property of the market. A guest in the Netherlands and a guest in Germany can get different answers to the same question, because the engine can read different sources in the two countries. That’s why we measure per market, and add the market you’re going for.

Tourism’s own questions
The questions we ask the engines are the ones guests actually ask: place, season, experience, guest and market. The source mix we read is the destination company, the booking sites and the profiles the guest meets along the way. How it works.

Does Synlig.ai measure more engines than Lykt?
Synlig.ai lists six: ChatGPT, Google AI Mode, Gemini, Claude, Microsoft Copilot and Perplexity. The price plan decides how many you get: Starter includes one AI model and Pro two. Lykt measures five engines: ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews and Copilot. Basis measures three engines, Pro, Vekst and Program all five. Claude and Google AI Mode are not on our list today.
What do the two cost?
Synlig.ai states Starter at 799 NOK/month, Pro at 2,899 NOK/month and Custom on request, as indicative prices ex. VAT. Lykt starts at 990 NOK/month for Basis and 1,999 NOK/month for Pro, ex. VAT. Both publish their prices.
Does Synlig.ai measure per market?
Synlig.ai states that the platform is “especially adapted to the Norwegian and Nordic market”. Whether they measure per market isn’t stated. For us the market is the unit and the language is a property of the market, because a guest in the Netherlands and a guest in Germany can get different answers to the same question. Extra markets cost 750 NOK/month per market.
Can we try both before we choose?
Synlig.ai states a seven-day free trial with no card and no lock-in. We do a free AI Check: three questions in two of your guests’ languages across three engines, with a report within one working day. Neither commits you to anything.
