For experiences and activities
Be the answer to “what can we do here”.
Fishing, mountain hikes, fjord cruises, the northern lights. The guest asks AI what’s worth doing, and the answer recommends a few things. Today a travel blog or the destination company often owns that answer. Lykt shows who, season by season and market by market, and gives you three things to do each month.
- One business Tourism businesses
What it looks like today
Three things you already feel.
-
The portal takes commission on every trip
Your spot on an activity portal costs commission on every single trip. If you’re recommended in the AI answer with your own site as the source, the guest can book directly with you.
-
You already pay the destination company
Your activity is in the destination company’s overview, and that overview is the source AI reads most. But the overview often names the category, not the business. We show which answers come from there, and what needs to be in the listing for your name to come along.
-
The guest asks in German, you measure in Norwegian
German and Dutch guests ask in their own language. There’s rarely a page of yours that answers them there, so AI takes a blog. In the example below the Dutch market is at “Not mentioned” in four of five engines.
The map
What the map shows you.
The rows are the experience, the season and the market, the columns are the engines. Where the cell says “Not mentioned”, there’s no answer with your name in it, and a travel blog or a booking site is in the source mix instead. In the example the fishing is mentioned in three of five engines, and winter is at “Not mentioned” in three. Winter is the closest to turning: two of the engines already share the answer.
Source: Lykt, example. Example figures, not measurements.
Three things, an example
Three tasks a month, picked from the map.
Three tasks a month, ideally one in each lane (foundation, own pages, placement), picked where the map is cheapest to turn. This is what a month looks like for an activity business.
- Tidy the categories in your Google profile and add the seasons you actually run
- Publish an honest guide to fishing in the area, with the seasons and who the trip suits
- Ask the Dutch travel blog that already covers the area to include your trip
Who writes the drafts: Basis: you. Pro: you, with templates. Vekst: we do. Program: we do.
From a real run · “What can we do?”
No activity business was cited from its own site.
We asked ChatGPT what a family can do by the Sognefjord in summer, in German, Dutch and English. The answers named trips and attractions, but every citation went to destination companies and Visit Norway.
