What we measure differently
Three choices that make our numbers different.

A map, not a grade
We don’t give you one number to be judged on. You get an Authority map where each pillar reads “You’re mentioned”, “Shared answer” or “Not mentioned” per engine, and each cell points to a task. A map tells you where to go. A grade only tells you how it went. See the glossary (in Norwegian).

Market, not language
Our unit is the market, and the language is a property of the market. A guest in the Netherlands and a guest in Germany can get different answers to the same question, because the engine can read different sources in the two countries. That’s why we measure per market, and add the market you’re going for.

Tourism’s own questions
The questions we ask the engines are the ones guests actually ask: place, season, experience, guest and market. The source mix we read is the destination company, the booking sites and the profiles the guest meets along the way. How it works.

Which engines are covered?
Semrush states ChatGPT, Google AI, Gemini and Perplexity. Lykt measures five engines: ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews and Copilot. Basis measures three engines, Pro, Vekst and Program all five.
Does Semrush AI Toolkit measure per market?
Markets aren’t stated on their pricing page, so we don’t state them. For us the market is the unit, and you pick which ones. Extra markets cost 750 NOK/month per market.
Can we use both?
Yes. They do different jobs. Semrush is a broad toolkit for search. We measure AI visibility per market for a tourism product and point out three tasks a month from the map.
